I am Dr. Fred Abernathy from Tuscumbia, Alabama. I attended and graduated from Deshler High School. I started my first year of teaching at Oak Park Middle School in the Decatur City Schools. All years have been in the Decatur City Schools. While in the Decatur City Schools, I have been involved in coaching at the middle school and high school level.

My educational background consist of the following: I graduated with a advanced diploma from Deshler High School. After high school I attended NWSSC and graduated with a Pre-Secondary Education Degree(A.A). I graduated with my BS.Ed from Athens State University. Later I attended Alabama A&M and I graduated with a M.Ed in the area of Collaborative Education, an Ed.S( Educational Specialist Degree in the area of Collaborative Education), a M.Ed in the area of Leadership(Non-certified). Next, I attended and graduated from Lincoln Memorial University to obtain my Ed.D degree in the area of Executive Leadership. Being a lifelong learner I decided to attend West Alabama University to obtain another Master's degree in Instructional Leadership with certification. I will complete all requirements this Spring semester 2014.

My Wiki includes a portfolio with the lesson plans I created for the lessons I taught involving the use of various technology. The portfolio also includes several presentations and documents I created in the ED 505 class in which enhanced the lessons I taught.
